Annual Awards Recognition

    The St. Louis Council of Construction Consumers (SLCCC) will honor award winners for construction industry best practices and for diversity and inclusion at  a Awards Dinner Gala on Monday, March 6 at the Palladium in St. Louis.

    The Best Practice awards recognize successful implementation of one or more of the 17 Best Practices validated by the Construction Industry Institute to improve cost, schedule and quality for construction projects.  Awards will be presented to teams for projects by SLCCC members both in and outside the Missouri - Illinois region.

    Diversity and Inclusion awards recognize advocacy for inclusion in design and construction.  Winners will be recognized for either increasing the capacity and capability of woman and minority owned firms or expanding the use of women and minorities working in construction.

AWP - Advanced Work Packaging

On April 14, 2016 Scott Hounsell, a Construction Services Director for Fluor Construction presented the latest CII, Construction Industry Institute, Best Practice to about 50 SLCCC members. AWP, Advanced Work Packaging, is a Best Practice that has been validated in the construction industry to improve productivity, cost and schedule

MODOT Award to SLCCC

The St. Louis Council of Construction Consumers (SLCCC) was awarded the "Outstanding Transportation Partner of the Year" Award by the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) during the annual training symposium Feb. 8-9, 2106.

Best Practices Awards

Nominations are open for the 2016 Construction Industry Best Practices Awards.  The awards program provides unique awards which recognize achievement with implementation of construction industry Best Practices which have been validated by the Construction Industry Institute (CII) to provide improvements in cost and schedule.  Nominations are due by Thurs., February 4, 2016 and awards will be announced at the 45th Anniversary Gala and Awards program on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Bissingers, 1600 N. Broadway, St. Louis, MO 63102.

Inclusion Award Nominations

Nominations are open for the 2016 Inclusion Awards.  These awards recognize the advancement of diversity and inclusion in the design and construction industry.  Nominations are due by February 4, 2016 to the St. Louis Council of Construction Consumers, 180 Weidman Road, Suite 127, Manchester, MO 63021.  Winners will be announced at the 45th Anniversary Gala & Awards program on Monday, March 7, 2016.

Awards Recognize Outstanding Best Practices in Construction

     Best practices in the construction industry were recognized by the St. Louis Council of Construction Consumers (SLCCC) during its annual awards on December 18, 2014 at the Sheraton Westport Lakeside Chalet, St. Louis, MO.  The annual awards recognize successful use of Construction Industry Best Practices validated by the Construction Industry Institute (CII) to improve project quality, budget and schedule.

Awards Recognize Diversity and Inclusion in Construction

     The Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT) was awarded a Diversity Inclusion Organizational Excellence Award for their leadership with the use of minority and women owned business enterprises (MWBE) and use of women and minorities in the trades. For the construction of the Mississippi River Bridge, MODOT conducted community roundtables and developed strategies for both work force and supplier diversity. These included prompt payment of contractors, breaking out bid packages, and mentoring. MODOT provides resources for development of women and minority business enterprises through business coaching programs, the Business Assistance Center and needs assessment. The agency hosts early pre-bid meetings and mixers and provides compliance specialists to facilitate networking for inclusion of women and minority business participation on projects.
